First Flight

An invitation to celebrate the test flight of the first hot air balloon, piloted by a sheep, a duck, and a rooster.

Way back in 1783, the Montgolfier Brothers launched the first hot air balloon, the Aerostat Reveillon. However, not just a few hours before, the real first flight was conducted! A test flight was launched with three animals, a sheep, a duck, and a rooster aboard. In honor of these courageous creatures forgotten by history, I designed an invitation to the real event, the first flight of the animals. At the core of the invitation lies a little souvenir, a custom screenprinted balloon with the details of the event printed on it. Though perfectly readable at a small size, it takes on a whole new life when you get some air in it.
